I Believe Poem Louise Sorensen April 8, 2009
I believe that people are like panes of glass,
and see their world,
through shades of rose, or rage, or black, opaque as death.
That people are like boats,
steering their way through
shoals and depths, past
garbage and the floating dead.
That people are like waves of light,
alive through space and time.
That people are like glass.
And they break.
